The Yorkshire Ability Triathlon began in 2023 with one simple goal: to create a fun, inclusive event where disabled children and young people could try swimming, cycling and running in a relaxed, supportive environment.
From the beginning, it was all about joy, participation, and new experiences - no pressure, just the chance to be part of something special. By 2024 the event had grown significantly, with more families attending and alternative activities introduced for those unable to complete all three traditional triathlon disciplines.
Today, the Yorkshire Ability Triathlon continues to grow bigger and better every year, becoming a true celebration of inclusion, community and achievement, where every participant can make memories and feel part of the amazing Swim Bike Run family.
The Yorkshire Ability Triathlon is a fully inclusive sporting event for children and young people with disabilities, held at Leeds Beckett University’s Headingley Campus.

At the heart of the Yorkshire Ability Triathlon is a deep commitment to inclusion and individual support. We understand that every athlete is unique, and we go above and beyond to meet their needs.
